Since 1989, the coaches of the Texas Sabre Academy have been introducing the sport of fencing to thousands of children and adults throughout Texas. Our coaches have combined over 50 years of fencing experience and are USFA (United States Fencing Association) certified.

Our coaches are trained to provide the latest techniques and tactics to all of our students. Regardless of whether or not you’ve ever held a fencing weapon, our coaches will give you one-on-one introductory classes to all of potential fencers.

Our Classes

Our adult program gives fencers the opportunity to learn all about the sport of fencing. This program offers fundamental instruction to fencers and provides the bedrock upon to build their fencing skills. $120 / mo

Our Elite program represents the competitive arm the Texas Sabre Academy. The students in this program are seasoned veterans of fencing and have extensive competitive experience. They regularly compete throughout Texas tournaments and are no strangers to the National level of competition. $275 - Member / mo

Our Intermediate program offers both developmental instruction to beginners and enrichment of skills to regulars. Students in this program are fencing enthusiasts but are also encouraged to compete. $220 Member / mo

Our Junior program gives children the opportunity to learn all about the sport of fencing. This program offers fundamental instruction to young fencers and provides the bedrock to build their fencing skills upon. $150 / month (once a week) $190 / month (twice a week) $240 / month (3x a week) Additional Training with Elite group

Private Lessons are tailored to the individual fencer. These sessions are designed to teach new techniques, strategies, and tactics. They also help refine the fencer’s learned skills. $60 / 20 minutes (non-member) $50 / 20 minutes (members) $450 / 10 lesson package (members) $800 / 20 lesson package (members)

Open Fencing provides an opportunity for fencers of any skill level to bout and improve their skills. Open fencing is available to fencers enrolled in any Texas Saber Academy program.

Coach Bykov competed in the 2012 London Olympic Games, finishing 4th in the Men’s Sabre Team event. As a fencing coach, he has developed athletes who have won national, European, and world championship medals, including gold at the Youth Olympic Games.
